Eurail Pass offers unlimited train journeys in Europe for non-European residents. If you live in Europe, check out Interrail Passes.
Eurail One-Country Passes are available in most European nations like Germany, Switzerland, Greece, France, Italy, Finland, Austria, and others.
To reserve seats for 90 percent of European trains, head over to the Eurail website. Railway carriers’ websites and local train stations also serve as platforms for reserving seats. Learn more about seat reservations on the Eurail seat reservation page.
If you are traveling during peak tourist season, or on popular trains, reserve your seats as soon as possible for they tend to sell out. Reservation booking windows are open from six to three months before departure. Read more about seat reservations on the Eurail seat reservation page.
Use the Rail Planner app to activate your Eurail One-Country Pass. Follow the instructions mentioned on how to use the Eurail Pass page for more information.
Eurail Spain Pass lets you commute only within Spain, meaning that you cannot travel from France to Spain with a Eurail Spain Pass. In the rare instances where a few international connections are possible with the Eurail One-Country Pass, it will be specifically mentioned. However, for seamless and multiple border crossings and domestic train travel, get a Eurail Global Pass.
Your official residency is the deciding factor between Eurail and Interrail. If you are an official European resident, you need to get an Interrail Pass. If you reside outside Europe, you should get a Eurail Pass. Read more about the differences between the passes on the Eurail Vs. Interrail page.
Your Eurail One-Country Pass can typically be used within 11 months of purchase.
